Dragon Ball Z Devolution Strategy Guide (2024)

I did not make this game; all credit goes to txori. Find the game here: http://www.txori.com/data/documents/dbz/dbz.swfI've noticed a stunning lack of information on this amazing flash game. This game isn't too tough normally, but certain levels of the story, especially the side stories, are very difficult, especially on Hard. So here are some tips.

P.S. I am playing on Hard. Easy and Normal are obviously easier.

Why are the bars all different colors?[]

The bar isn't big enough to represent all the variation in stats that characters have, so bars are overlaid on other bars in the order below; when you run out of one bar, your amount of health or ki is subtracted from the next lower bar. Not all characters have all bars. Health and ki are usually equal, but not always. Finally, even if a character has one bar of ki, their blast fighting will be just as good. The order is:

Dark green, light green, yellow, orange, red.

Why can't I do anything with the little blasts?[]

Because, quite frankly, they suck. If you're going from range, always, always use the Kamehameha. It will give much more damage for the amount of energy it needs (damage is equal to half the ki you put into it), and can be improved by putting more than a bar of power into it.

How do I compete in melee?[]

You won't generally need to know this, but certain missions require it. In melee, breaking the opponent's guard should be the only thing you're trying to do. Do this as fast as possible. The reason you do this is because it can break the opponent's defense, and opponents are far better at using defense well than most players. Melee is not for the faint of heart. A final word of warning: Never, NEVER melee against Beerus/Bills or Whis. I don't know what you press to activate it, but I've seen both of them somehow one-shot opponents with five bars of health with a melee attack.

I see an explosion! What's going on?[]

It's because two Kamehamehas collided. This is called by different names, but I call it a blast fight for the youtuber jDantastic, who used that name. Tap X like you never have before. The loser takes a lot of damage (my theory is that it's as much as both Kamehamehas together), so don't lose. For this reason, there are certain times where you absolutely do not get in a blast fight.

Woah! Piccolo just shot this awesome beam that destroyed my Kamehameha![]

Some characters, if you hold X and Up, can use special abilities replacing their Kamehameha (although some of these require less than a bar of ki). Some of these are powerful, and some aren't. Piccolo is a special case; you have to press X and down to use his ability. This is likely because he has several transformations (see below). CPUs rarely use these, so this is a major advantage.

After he destroyed my Kamehameha, Piccolo got a different sprite! What's up with that?[]

Some characters (including most of the useful ones) have at least one transformation, which they can access by holding X and up. This will increase certain base stats (see below). Some transformations have a time limit, and some don't. Some transformations are automatically activated when you have less than half a bar of health (no ki is needed for these). I call those anger transformations. Unlike special attacks, computers will use these a lot.

We have the same health and Ki! Why is (insert name here) so hard?[]

The Database section, in between the Jukebox and Setup, is very helpful. It includes three stats: Power, Speed, and Spirit, that do not change when a character's Health and Ki do, for every character, including their transformations. The only problem is that it doesn't list special abilities, and it doesn't make it clear what these stats actually mean; Speed is obvious, and Power seems to imply how much damage you do, but what is Spirit? Power in a blast battle is represented by either Power or Spirit.

The game is too easy/hard/the controls suck![]

Go to Setup, in between Database and Credits (it's the symbol with the wrench). You can change the controls and difficulty there.

Will you talk about side stories?[]

Yes. They are the main reason this guide was written.

Why can't I transform in story mode?[]

Story mode can lock you out of certain transformations (it's why Goku can't do Kaio-Ken in the first levels). Assume a transformation is locked if I haven't mentioned it as being unlocked previously.

How do I fight with two or more people on my side?[]

When you're at the left edge of the screen, double-tap left to switch to the next character in your lineup. You can't do this if everyone else is dead. If you get a character you don't want, keep double-tapping until you get the right person.

What do you mean by "stronger than a Super Saiyan"?[]

Most of the game's Super Saiyan forms, if you look in the database, have 3 out of 5 in every stat. If a character has at least 3 in each stat and more than 3 in one or more stats, they are stronger than a Super Saiyan.

Story[]

23rd Budokai[]

This saga only has one level: Goku vs Piccolo. You have 2 bars of health/ki (you start with 1 bar of ki, but can charge up), while Piccolo has only one. Other than this difference, you're evenly matched. However, if you lose a blast fight, you might die instantly or lose almost all of your health because you don't have much health. All transformations are locked on both sides. All in all, this is a very easy mission, and unless you aren't tapping X fast enough in the blast fight (again, you need to tap fast), you shouldn't lose.

Saiyans[]

Mysterious Warrior from Space[]

You may be surprised to find that you're Raditz. Although an opponent may be more powerful than you, you'll always play the winning side in this game. You're faster than Goku but have less "Spirit", whatever that stat does. Seriously, if you know what it does, tell me. Otherwise, this mission is almost exactly the same as the previous one, with the same health and ki. Raditz has an anger transformation to make himself more powerful; you should easily win blast battles with that.

Unlikely Alliance[]

You are now Goku and Piccolo (see above for how to fight as two people) against Raditz. Everyone has 2 bars of health/ki, with ki starting at 1 bar. This should be a very easy fight because of the Special Beam Cannon. As Piccolo, use X and down to activate it. It's twice as strong as a regular Kamehameha (damage = ki) and breaks other people's Kamehamehas so you don't have to blast battle them. You can't transform at all here either.

The Training[]

You're Kid Gohan vs Piccolo. No transformations here either, and 2 bars of health/ki starting at 1 ki. This is the first battle where you're weaker than your opponent (although only in Database stats, and even then not by much).

Let the games begin![]

This is a massive Tag Team battle. You're Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, Kid Gohan, AND Piccolo against 6 Saibamen. Tien, Krillin and Piccolo have 2 bars of health/ki, starting at 1 ki (Piccolo technically starts at 2 bars, but uses one for his transformation, which you can finally use). Piccolo has more speed and more Spirit than before, becoming the first character in story mode with 3 ranks in a Database stat (Spirit). The other PCs have 1 bar of health/ki, starting at 1 ki. The Saibamen have 4/5(?) of a bar of health and 1 bar of ki. They can't fly, so this should be an easy win for you.

Piccolo is very powerful, since a Special Beam Cannon should be able to one-shot Saibamen. Krillin's Destructo Disk does as much damage than the Special Beam Cannon and cuts through defense; however, any projectile will deflect it. Krillin can also transform, although he only gains a speed boost. Strangely enough, it is actually harder to hit jumping characters than flying ones most of the time.

All in all, an easy mission. It seems hard until you realize you have the same amount of characters and all of yours are more powerful. It's not too difficult to beat this mission with only Piccolo or Krillin.

Mighty Nappa[]

Another big battle. Same as above for the PCs, except you don't get Yamcha, Krillin has 1 bar of health (ki is still 2) and Gohan has 2 bars of ki, as well as a transformation. You fight Nappa, who has 4 bars of health and 4 bars of ki, with 3 ki to start. He also has an anger transformation that greatly increases his Power. This again seems hard, but you have five characters to beat one enemy with. This mission may take a little while, but that's it, and it won't even take long if you use the Special Beam Cannon.

If you don't want to use the Special Beam Cannon, Gohan is a very good choice, since he is techincally more powerful than Piccolo in a straight-up blast battle after his transformation. It has a time limit, though, so beware.

It's over 9000!!![]

You play as just Goku, with 2 bars of health and 3 of ki, with 2 ki to start. Nappa has only 1 bar of health and 2 of ki, with 1 to start. You don't have any transformations, but you shouldn't need them; a blast battle with some power behind it should kill Nappa instantly if he loses.

The decisive battle at last![]

You're Goku against Vegeta. Both of you have 3 health. Goku has 3 ki with 2 to start, while Vegeta has 4 ki with 3 to start. However, if you want to be cheap, this is one of the easiest missions in the entire game, thanks to the fact that you can use Kaio-Ken. With Kaio-Ken comes the Spirit Bomb. It is no harder to use than the Kamehameha, is actually more likely to hit, and deals twice the ki you put into it in damage, meaning that it is: A. Twice as powerful as the Special Beam Cannon and Destructo Disk, and B. you can one-shot Vegeta with ease.

If you don't use that route, than you've got a decently hard mission; even in Kaio-Ken, you're still weaker than Vegeta, and he has more ki than you do. Vegeta also has an anger transformation where he becomes even stronger.

The worn-out warriors[]

The final mission in the Saiyan Saga involves Yajirobe, Krillin and Gohan. Gohan has 2 health/ki (1 ki to start), Krillin has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start), and Yajirobe has half a bar of health and no ki or flight. Vegeta has 3 health/ki (2 ki to start) and starts the fight angry. Only Gohan can blast battle him, although the power of a two-bar Destructo Disk is something that is not to be missed. Beat this to advance to Namek.

Namek[]

Stranded on Namek[]

You are Gohan and Krillin up against Banan and Sui. You have 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start) with both characters. You are also locked out of transformations, but you shouldn't need them. Banan and Sui have 1 bar of health and ki. Banan has more power, while Sui is faster. Both can easily be taken out by a Destructo Disk. Even without the Disk, you should still use Krillin, since without transformations he is stronger than Gohan.

Vegeta's true power[]

You're Vegeta with 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start) vs Cui with 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start). Despite Vegeta being equal in Power and stronger in Spirit than Cui, Cui will still win Blast Battles. The trick here if you can't hit him with a 2-bar Kamehameha is to get yourself hurt so that you can become angry, at which point you will win blast battles. Actually one of the harder missions so far.

The prince fights back[]

You're Vegeta with the same stats as last time against Dodoria with 2 health/ki (1 to start). Dodoria will immediately transform, although you can still beat him in a blast battle with ease. For this reason, this is actually easier than the last mission. You should get through this with no problem by now.

Beauty and the beast[]

You are now Zarbon against Vegeta. Both of you have 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start). Zarbon can transform, which is vital; if you don't transform Vegeta will beat you in a blast battle, but you have a slight edge after transforming. This shouldn't be too hard; Vegeta'll hit you with a lot of power to fuel a blast battle, so the loser will probably die. Make sure it isn't you.

Zarbon's Mission[]

The tables are turned and it's Vegeta against Zarbon. The stats are the same, except Zarbon transforms immediately and has 2 bars of ki. You're automatically angry, so you can beat him in blast battles. This mission is easier than the last. It's also the last thing in this story arc.

Captain Ginyu[]

The Ginyu Force[]

You have Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan against Guldo. Vegeta has 2 health and 2 ki (1 to start), and Krillin and Gohan have 1 health and 1 ki (half a bar to start). Vegeta starts out angry and the others have their transformations back. Guldo has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start). Instead of Kamehamehaing, Guldo can stop time for a little while. However, Guldo does almost nothing during this time; even if he goes into melee, if you defended before he stopped time, you'll be immune to his attacks. Only attack when he doesn't the energy to do a time-stop, as he can easily dodge your attacks during a stop. A Destructo Disk or 2-bar Kamehameha will kill him instantly.

Vegeta VS Recoome[]

Same as before for PC stats, but Gohan has 2 ki and Vegeta has 3. Recoome has 4 health and 4 ki (2 to start). Recoome also has an anger transformation that greatly increases his threat, but if you're good with the Destructo Disks and avoid getting hit with Krillin, you should be able to beat him before he gets to that point.

Goku has landed![]

Goku is back and ready for action with 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start), while Recoome has half a bar of health and 2 ki (1 to start). You can't go Kaio-Ken, but you don't need to; even a 1-bar Kamehameha will kill Recoome. Ironically, since Recoome begins the fight angry, he is more powerful than you in a blast battle.

Jeice and Burter[]

You're Goku again with 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start) against Jeice and Burter, who both have 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start). You still can't use Kaio-Ken. Jeice is more dangerous; Burter has a high Speed stat (rank 4 in the Database), but this isn't too much of an issue. This mission is fairly easy.

Ginyu steps in[]

Goku is fighting Ginyu. Both characters have 3 health/ki (2 to start). You can use Kaio-Ken and the Spirit Bomb for total carnage here. Blast battles aren't impossible, but they're quite difficult unless you are in Kaio-Ken. Ginyu can use his bodyswap in this game, but only when a player is controlling him, so not in this fight. This may be a good time to mention that if Goku is already in Kaio-Ken, he has an anger transformation. Ginyu also has an anger transformation.

Ginyu's second-hand man[]

Vegeta is fighting Jeice. Vegeta has 3 health/ki (2 to start). Jeice has one less Ki than Vegeta. This battle is a bit harder than Goku's fight with Jeice because Jeice's health has been doubled since then.

Goku or Ginyu?![]

You're now Krillin, Gohan and Vegeta fighting... Goku? Yes, Ginyu has switched bodies to make you fight Goku. Fortunately, as a CPU Goku is too dumb to use the Spirit Bomb. Gohan and Krillin have 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start), while Vegeta starts angry and has 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start). Goku has 3 health, but only 1 ki (half a bar to start). I don't feel the need to bring up the Disk again, but if you want to fight him with Vegeta, this can be a fun fight. Goku has more health, but can't charge up multiple Kamehamehas because of his ki limit, so use that to your advantage.

Nail's Sacrifice[]

In this battle, you play as... Frieza? In another shocking turn of events, you are fighting Nail in this battle, but you have 4 health/ki (2 to start) while Nail only has 2 health/ki (1 to start), so this should be easy. Technically, Nail starts with 2 ki, but he immediately transforms, bringing it down to 1. Frieza can't transform, nor does he need to; he can also spam X to fire finger lasers that move faster than the little projectiles and are actually useful. Blast battles are not incredibly hard, but they're a bit harder than you might expect considering their differences in the series.

Frieza[]

The wrath of Frieza[]

Finally, you can battle Frieza! You play as Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan. Vegeta is, for once, not angry and has 2 health and 3 ki (3 to start. No, that is not a typo), while the others have 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start). Frieza, meanwhile, has 4 health and 3 ki (2 to start). Vegeta should not be blast battling Frieza; his normal form just isn't powerful enough, and if he loses there's a good chance he'll be one-shotted. The Destructo Disk is your best bet here, and if you play it right you can beat all of the levels in this saga until the Super Saiyan battle with just Krillin.

Fighting power: one million??[]

Same party as last time, with some differences. Vegeta begins angry, but Frieza begins transformed, so there really isn't any difference from the last level in a blast battle. Vegeta has 2 health/ki (1 to start), Gohan has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start), and Krillin has 1 health/ki (1/2 ki to start). Oh, I forgot to mention that you also have Dende, but he's useless as he only has half a bar of health and no ki. Frieza, meanwhile, has 5 health and 4 ki (3 to start), being the first foe in the game with 5 health. Again, the Destructo Disk is good, but less powerful as you can only deal 1 bar of damage with it. Barring that, Gohan might actually be better than Vegeta here, since he has more raw attack power when he transforms than even an angry Vegeta.

The fourth warrior[]

Dende and Vegeta have left the party to be replaced by Piccolo, who is now in his Nail form. This form is an entirely different character in game stats (don't worry, he still has the Beam Cannon). To get a sense of his power, his first form is as good as his previous second form. This is one of the few occasions when the character you're supposed to beat someone with is actually the character you should use. Piccolo has 3 health/ki (2 to start), while Krillin and Gohan have 1 health/ki (1/2 ki to start). Frieza has only 4 health and 3 ki (2 to start), so he's easy to beat with Piccolo. You shouldn't need to bring out Krillin at all.

Frieza's third form[]

As I hope you can guess from the level name, Frieza transformed again, also bringing Dende and Vegeta back into the fight. Dende is exactly as useless as before. Vegeta has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start), while Krillin has 1 health/ki (1/2 ki to start). However, Gohan is really mad and, aside from starting the fight transformed, has 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start), while Frieza has 5 health and 4 ki (3 to start). Frieza's new form gives him only a speed boost. This level is harder with the lack of Piccolo, but Gohan is a powerhouse and Krillin still has his handy Destructo Disk.

The ultimate battle begins![]

You have Krillin, Gohan, Piccolo and Goku against Vegeta. Krillin and Gohan have 1/2 health and 1 ki (1/2 to start), while Piccolo has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start) and Goku has 3 health/ki (2 to start). Aside from the obvious implications of having the Spirit Bomb, Piccolo is still very good. You can beat Frieza with the Destructo Disk alone (I've done it), but if you get hit by any Kamehamehas at all, you're instantly dead. This is an easy mission due to the fact that, for once in the game, you have all three overpowered attacks. Frieza has 4 health and 3 ki (2 to start).

I should probably mention that this is the last time in the game you'll ever get to use the Spirit Bomb, since Super Saiyan Gokus don't have it.

The legendary Super Saiyan[]

No, not Broly. You get Goku as a Super Saiyan. Goku and Frieza have exactly equal Database stats, but you have 4 health/ki (3 to start), while Frieza has only 3 health/ki (1 to start). You immediately transform into a Super Saiyan when the battle begins. This battle really isn't too hard, since you're more powerful than Frieza.

Namek's explosion[]

Same as the last mission, except you both have 4 health/ki (3 to start) and Frieza has transformed yet again, gaining some power. This battle is on a 90-second time limit, but you should be able to easily beat Frieza in that time. I am beginning to think that Spirit governs blast battles.

Trunks[]

Return of Frieza[]

The difficulty begins to increase here. You're Future Trunks with 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start) fighting Mecha Frieza with 2 health/ki (1 to start). Blast battles are more difficult than normal, but still quite managable. It's the next mission that gets harder. I should note, for those of you who haven't watched much of the series (I barely had any idea what Dragon Ball was before this game) that Trunks can go Super Saiyan.

Frieza's father[]

Exactly the same as the last one, except that King Cold is far better at blast battles. Do not get into a blast battle with him, of you will probably die. Instead, blast him only when he's close or charging and doesn't have enough ki to use a Kamehameha.

Super Saiyan spar[]

You're Goku vs Trunks, and both of you have 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start). However, you'll notice that your character is now "Goku SSJ" (Goku Super Saiyajin). This is just like Goku, except you can actually keep up with the new enemies in your base form, and instead of transforming into Kaio-Ken, you can immediately go Super Saiyan. Be careful, though, or your time will run out and you'll become normal Goku and have to transform back. Blast battles are, again, difficult but managable. One thing I noticed is that Trunks is very likely to turn back into his normal self during the battle, giving you an advantage as he has to use his ki to transform back.

Androids[]

The androids appear[]

You're Dr. Gero with 2 health and 3 ki (3 to start) vs Yamcha with 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start). However, you'll notice that you can't regain Ki. Instead, if you're defending and you get hit with a ki attack, you won't be damaged and instead will gain Ki roughly equal to the ki used for the attack (around twice that against Kamehamehas). Yamcha will use Kamehamehas a lot, so this is a very easy level. If he has some ki, Gero will become stronger as well. Do not get into a blast battle; yes, Yamcha will beat you. However, it's far more efficient to just absorb the Kamehameha anyway.

The second android[]

You are now Android 19 against Super Saiyan Goku. Android 19 is exactly the same as Gero, while Super Saiyan Goku has 2 health/ki (1 to start). Even more so than the last fight, don't get in a blast battle. He will destroy you. However, this is again a very easy level, so you'll be completely unprepared for...

Vegeta returns[]

...quite possibly the most annoying level in this game. You're Super Vegeta against Android 19. Vegeta has 3 health/ki (2 to start), while 19 has 3 health and 2 ki (2 to start). Vegeta plays similarly to Goku here. However, 19 will absorb all of your attacks; you have to either hit him while he's moving (really hard), get him into a blast battle (also kind of hard, unless you hit the Kamehameha that he'll usually fire near the start), or beat him in melee. The first two can happen but are not easy to repeat, so melee is good (read the Melee section above before trying this). If you beat him in that first blast battle, you'll have a health advantage and may be able to win. As a new player, it took me four tries on Normal to beat this level.

The chase[]

Another level kind of like the last, but a good bit easier if you know the tricks. You play as Krillin and Piccolo against Dr. Gero. Piccolo has 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start), Krillin has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start), and Gero has 3 health and 2 ki (2 to start). The Destructo Disk will serve you once again, since I'm fairly sure he can't absorb it. The Special Beam Cannon can be absorbed, but he has to be defending to absorb it, so it can still get you out of a Kamehameha fight (not that you would lose; Gero is weak). If you absolutely must go into melee, you've hopefully gained some experience in it from the last level.

Nightmare comes true[]

Android 17 shows his true power here against Gero. 17 has 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start), while Gero has 1 health/ki (1 to start). 17 has a strange mechanic; to represent his unlimited store of energy, he will gain ki automatically, no matter what he is doing. If it sounds perfect, it's not; the charge rate is not to be envied and you can't make it go faster. Strangely, Gero is better at blast battles, but you can hopefully take him out in melee by now, especially considering he's weaker than you are.

Deadly beauty[]

Android 18 appears against Vegeta. You both have 3 health/ki (2 to start). Vegeta starts as a Super Saiyan, while 18 uses the same auto-charge mechanic as 17. It is possible to beat Vegeta in a blast battle, but it will take all your strength to do so. Vegeta will sometimes go back to normal, but I've never been able to blast battle him in this state because he turns back as soon as possible. Not easy, but not crushingly hard either.

Trunks breaking point [sic][]

You're now in control of both 17 and 18 against Trunks, Piccolo, Tien and Vegeta. 17 and 18 both have 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start), while the enemies all have different stats; Tien has 1 health/ki (1/2 to start), Piccolo starts in his second form and has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start), and Vegeta starts super and has the same stats. Trunks has 2 health/ki (1 to start), and also starts as a Super Saiyan. Piccolo and Tien are easy to beat (remember, as a CPU Piccolo won't use the Special Beam Cannon). Vegeta is a bit harder, but Future Trunks is a major threat. Against Vegeta, use 17, as he can beat Vegeta in a blast battle. Don't blast battle Trunks; it will not end well. Here is where you'll really notice just how slowly the androids charge; conserve your ki and make sure not to take much damage, and you'll be fine. Protect 17, since he's more powerful in the blast battles.

Imperfect Cell[]

The reunion[]

You are now Piccolo against Imperfect Cell. But wait! This is right after Piccolo has fused with Kami, so you effectively have another new character. Both of you have 2 health, but you have 4 ki (3 to start), while Cell only has 2 ki (1 to start). You can easily one-shot Cell with a Special Beam Cannon, but it should be noted that even if you don't, you're as powerful as Cell even without the ki advantage, and much stronger if you transform. It is worth noting that, if he's in his anger transformation, Piccolo is stronger than a Super Saiyan.

#17's Equal[]

You are once again Piccolo against 17. Piccolo starts out angry. You truly are 17's equal; both of you get 4 health/ki (although you get 3 to start while 17 only gets 2). Even without the Beam Cannon, this fight won't be too hard; with it, you can kill 17 almost instantly, since he likes Kamehamehaing at the beginning of the fight.

Cell's first victim[]

You are now in the role of Cell against both 17 and Piccolo. Both 17 and Piccolo have 2 health/ki (1 to start) while you have 4 health/ki (2 to start). A little easter egg here; because of his Namekian DNA, Cell can use the Special Beam Cannon, giving you three missions in a row with that OP attack. Piccolo will start angry, but unless you blast battle him, it doesn't matter.

Hyperbolic Time Chamber[]

You are now Super Trunks training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Vegeta. The difference between Future and Super Trunks is that your Super Saiyan is more balanced and you start out stronger. You both have 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start). Vegeta starts out as a Super Saiyan, but you do not. Vegeta can also go Ultra Super Saiyan for more power, but this won't make him much harder.

The strongest android[]

Cell has become Semi-Perfect and is fighting an angry Tien Shinhan and 16. You have 3 health/ki (2 to start). Tien isn't too hard, with just 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start). 16 has 2 health/ki (1 to start). 16 is much harder than Tien because you don't have the Special Beam Cannon anymore. However, even still this mission is fairly easy. Imperfect Cell would have blanched at having to fight 16, but now you're stronger than a Super Saiyan.

Perfect Cell[]

Quest for perfection[]

The epic battle between Vegeta and Semi-Perfect Cell begins. You are Vegeta in Ultra Super Saiyan form with 4 health and 3 ki (2 to start) while Cell has 3 health and 2 ki (1 to start). You're so close in power that blast battles could go either way. However, this really isn't that hard of a mission.

The final android[]

Idiot that he is, Vegeta has let Cell absorb 18. 18, 16 and Krillin are waiting to fight. Krillin has 1 health/ki (1/2 to start), 18 has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start) and 16 has... 1/2 health and 1 ki (1/2 to start)? Somehow, 16 became the weakest of the three characters. It doesn't matter, though, because you have 3 health/ki (2 to start) and you outclass the others easily. There are three opponents, so don't get hit too much, but other than that you should be fine.

The end of super Vegeta[]

Cell has become Perfect. He is now better than a Super Saiyan in almost every stat, meaning that Vegeta, even in Ultra Super Saiyan form, is screwed. As Cell, you have 3 health and 4 ki (3 to start) while Vegeta has 3 health/ki (2 to start). A little secret: spam (not hold) X to use Frieza's finger lasers. Unlike the ordinary little blasts, the finger laser is strong enough to do real damage and should definitely be used. However, unlike most specials, a CPU of Perfect Cell or Frieza can use it. If the battle runs long, Vegeta may turn back to normal, giving you time to attack while he charges the two bars of Ki needed to go USSJ again.

The fall of Trunks[]

You are once again Perfect Cell against Ultra Super Saiyan 2 Trunks. Trunks sacrifices speed for power. Speed is not nearly as important here as in Dragon Ball, so he's not at much of a disadvantage, but this level is still easy. Health and Ki are the same as the last fight.

Beyond the Super Saiyan[]

You are now Teen Gohan vs Goku. Both of you have 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start) and can go Super Saiyan. You are evenly matched in health, ki and database stats, but as a human you should be able to win easily. Although Goku will go Super Saiyan at the first opportunity, he does not start out as a Super Saiyan and neither do you.

Cell Games[]

The wanna-be hero[]

This is the easiest level in the whole game. You are Perfect Cell with 5 health/ki (4 to start) against Mr. Satan. I don't know how much health he has, but I'd estimate about a fifth of a bar. A single Finger Laser will kill him. Although he transforms at the beginning of the fight, as far as I can tell this does nothing.

The games begin[]

Now for a real level. You are Super Saiyan Goku against Perfect Cell. You have 3 health/ki (2 to start) while Cell has 4 health and 3 ki (3 to start). This is a relatively hard level; do not blast battle Cell, since it will not end well for you. Cell doesn't charge very often, I've noticed. The best part of this level is a phrase in the first sentence, saying that Cell "threw away the arrogant Mr. Satan".

A new hope[]

You are now Luke Skywalker against-- I mean, you are Perfect Cell against Super Saiyan Gohan. Cell has 3 health and 4 ki (3 to start) and Gohan has 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start). For some reason, Gohan dominates you in blast battles. Unlike Goku, you have the Finger Laser. This is the level when you learn how powerful it really is. Sometimes, Gohan will turn back to normal. Usually, he will go Super Saiyan as soon as possible, but if you are lucky, he'll blast battle you and you will win easily.

The anger inside[]

This is gonna be a doozy. You have (in order of strength) Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien and Yamcha against 7 Cell Juniors. Surprisingly, all of your characters can blast battle well. Goku has 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start). Vegeta and Trunks have 2 health and 3 ki (2 to start) and can go Ultra Super Saiyan. Piccolo has 1 health and 3 ki (2 to start). Everyone else has 1/2 health and 2 ki (1 to start). You will blanch at the Cell Juniors; seven opponents, each with 5 health and 4 ki (3 to start). Obviously, you can't beat them. However, you don't have to. After about 140 seconds, the level will end declaring you the victor. However, even still the level is difficult.

Awakening[]

At last, you are Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan. You have to kill all seven Cell Juniors, but they have only 1/2 health and 1 ki (1/2 to start) while you have 4 health and 5 ki (4 to start). This level is very, very easy, and so is the next one.

This is not the end of the story mode; I'm just taking a break to do Side Stories.

Side Stories[]

Dead Zone[]

1[]

You play as Kami, Goku (Normal), Piccolo (Normal) and Chi-Chi against Ginger, Nicky and Sansho. Chi-Chi has 1/2 health and can't fly or use ki. Goku and Piccolo both have 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start) and can't transform. Kami has 1/2 health and 2 ki (1 to start) and can't fly. The opponents all have 2 health/ki (1 to start). This is the first level. No weaker opponents, no four on one matches. Everyone is (sans Special Beam Cannon) stronger than you. The only tip I have is this: Give Kami some credit. Sure, he can't fly and doesn't have much health, but he can definitely beat the others in blast battles. You can kill people with him. Other than that, use the Beam Cannon and have fun!

2[]

You are now Goku (Normal), Piccolo (Normal) and Kid Gohan against Garlic Jr. in his Super form. Garlic Jr. has 5 health and 4 ki (2 to start) while Goku and Piccolo both have 1 health and 2 ki (1 to start) and can transform. This means you can easily Spirit Bomb Garlic Jr. to death. Kid Gohan has 1/2 health and 1 ki (1 to start).
