You might want to read the FAQ section of the AF forum if you havent already. Have you read Adrenal Fatigue by James Wilson? You also might want to check out articles on AF and related topics on www.drlwilson.com, www.drlam.com and www.arltma.com. Get a saliva test to find out whether or not you have AF. I of course fight Hashis and Celiac Disease along with AF and lyme. Im really getting desperate for more foods and snacks though. I do a gluten free diet but also MUST eat protein with my carbs or else i get weird symptoms. Are Lays potato chips ok for gluten free and for AF? Anybody have any experience with these, especially you guys that have AF?What about popcorn? Man i miss popcorn so much. Sounds good Natway. Gupta is still treating me well... Gradually improving daily. Sounds good about the herbal formula. The only thing that I might suggest, depending on your degree of AF, is to try each herb individually and make sure that they agree with you. I wonder if your chiro can give you samples of them seperately. Im definitely pro- ashwaghanda for all stages of AF, but Im not sure about the other adaptogens. Yep, looks like you got AF and thyroid issues (they usually go hand-n-hand). Did you have a lot of stress, anxiety, emotional traumas leading up and right before your AF? If so, the cause of your AF and other problems is whats called Amygdala Hijack. Go to youtube and check out Gupta retraining and The Linden Method. I used to do a lot of cleanses, detoxes and LFs and I must say the last five months I started thinking they are probably rough on peeps with AF. I started searching in the LF forum and found about 4 people saying the the Liver Flush caused an adreanal crash. I tried to go after my candida thinking it would take stress off of my adrenals but it didnt work. I tried so many things and I would kill it off but it would come right back in a couple of days. Have you checked out the FAQ section of the adrenal fatigue forum? Have you read Adrenal Fatigue by James Wilson? Youd be wise to get the saliva test for AF. I was getting frequent cold sores for a long while during the height of my AF. I think the compromised immune system and additional stress of AF makes a person more prone to herpes (either strain) outbreaks.Lysine, if I understand correctly, is mainly to help speed the healing process rather than to prevent outbreak. Im sorry to hear about your crash. I went through several of them when I was recovering from AF, and I know how devastating they can be. They can be more devastating after youve been doing better for a while, if I remember correctly. Have you ever tried adrenal drops and adrenal complex capsules? As some here might know, I am interested in crystals, chakras, etc. I have noticed that the 3rd chakra, which is over the solar plexus, is related to both the solar plexus and the adrenals. Ever since I have had this A.F., my solar plexus has been tight and I have tried to stretch and soften it with baths, crystals (rose quartz) and abdominal breathing during meditation.I am wondering if anyone else, here, has experienced a tight solar plexus and whether they think that is significant in their A.F. I know everyone is in a different stage of AF. My AF this time was constant high cortisol for 3 years. Although sometimes when I did start bringing it down I would have a little tireness in the morning. I am not sure what my BP was when I was high cort, I wish I had checked it. Now that my cort is more down its low. Anyway you might not have high cortisol but maybe its the lymph system and detox system is slow because of the AF. Let me know if you figure it out. I have noticed for the last month that Im having pre ejaculation issues. This has never ever happened before in my life (I am now 29). But I dont know if its psychological or AF related. I feel like it could be psychological. I dont know exactly how the female orgasm functions other than the fact that a female can multiple orgasms, but I know for a male its a one shot deal and then a recuperation period. I will check out the reviews... I really want to be convinced. In my case, it was not just emotional trauma that led to me getting sick. I am pretty certain I do have the genetic predisposition, plus Ive conscientiously developed to perfection the personality traits that lead to one getting AF. But in my case, a lot of physical stressors also led to me actually getting AF. (Such as hormonal IVF, birth control, going off an opiate cold turkey, and being far too thin my whole life, not having good nutrition, parathyroid problems). Through aggressive exercise, during the year before I got A.F., I went from 178 lbs to 147. I am 5 9. A marathon finally did me in. What I am wondering is: Can rapid weight loss, in and of itself, contribute to the onset of advanced A.F? Just got this book in the mail, myself! Another great book is Recovery from CFS- 50 Personal Stories by Alex Barton. I am always on the hunt for real life success stories, and this book is absolutely inspirational. A majority of the people featured in the book who have chronic fatigue have AF symptoms as bad as I have. These people just never put the AF label on their illness. Its intriguing, some people used SSRIs, and a lot of them were healed after retraining the circuitry in their brains using various programs. Gosh, that is really tough. I feel for you and sympathize with your situation.Its hard to tell you to officially break up and cut off all communication with him. However, I know that stress is the worst thing you can do for adrenal fatigue, and relationships can be a big source of stress. From his perspective it would be difficult to understand how awful AF can make you feel. (On my better days, even I dont understand or remember how bad the fatigue feels!) Hi woodsgirl - It was good to get your reply. For the saliva test, you have two options. 1. Find a ND who is good at treating AF. He/she can give you the saliva test, help you interpret its results, and recommend a supplement program for you. This is not always easy, as most NDs (including the first one I consulted) dont receive good training in treating AF. James Wilson discusses this in his book Adrenal Fatigue. Hi Konnor - Do you know how severe your AF is, and how long youve had it? Have you taken the saliva test for it? Im asking because I learned a few years ago that people with AF usually develop copper overload as well. I found that I had it, and for a few months I took a lot of supplements to reduce my copper and increase my zinc. I just re-read some of your posts, and noticed some copper overload symptoms in them. Hi,Ive been chelating to remove heavy metals for 9 months now (Mercury and Aluminum mostly, very high both). Hi AllWhen I hit af I was sleeping excess hours most of the day. The few hours I wasnt sleeping I could walk around and even though extremely weak and sluggishly. Im sure everybody ex perienced this.I have just relapsed due to chronic caffeine intake and now am unable to walk properly but not in the same way when i came down with af. Now I sleep normally and during the daytime when Im awake, I cannot even stand up straight let alone walk around the house. This is an old post but there are studies that show that Coq10 lowers blood pressure and blood sugar. Those with hypoglycemia or maybe hypoglycemic symptoms like with AF, maybe need to be careful. The heart pounding issue I get only with AF and its related to my blood sugar dropping at night. So i can imagine what it would feel like for someone geting it for the first time. I have never done Dr. Wilsons nutritional balancing program, but know a lot about recovering from AF. I know from my own experience that nutrition is a very important part of the recovery process. He knows a lot about AF, so Id recommend trying the program. You mentioned heavy metals in your post. Do you know if you have copper overload? People with AF usually do. Oh okay. is the canary club a company that ships out for adrenal fatigue? I think $99 is pretty reasonable but what i am concerned with is how to treat or cure AF. Apparently my hypothyroid issue will go away if i take care of the AF.. and right now i have tried vitamin C and changing my diet and it did absolutely nothing for my symptoms. The only thing that has worked is ginseng (tried siberian and korean red ginseng).. and it works pretty well but I am not sure exactly if its a cure or a temporary feeling. The blood test for AF is not accurate, and the saliva test is. The former isnt sensitive enough to detect something as subtle as AF. Chelation (or any type of detoxification) puts a huge strain on the adrenals. I know, because after I started recovering from AF I took some supplements to help my liver detox better. They caused me to do a lot of detoxing, and this put a big strain on my adrenals for many years. based from what i read and my experience, stimulatory and re-build can mean varied things for an AF sufferer. those two words can be good for you or bad for you depending upon your condition. those two words basically means the same, and they are bad for you if you are in the advance stage of AF. on the other hand, they are good for you if you are in the early stages.for example, you can not use strong adrenal supplements like glandulars, lots Vit. How safe and effective is Hydrocortisone for AF?I have had several dr recommend this to me. My friend who suffers from severe AF is getting better with it and she is telling me to not be afraid of it.Is is safe? Do the adrenals remember how to work after you taper off?I have been through so much and am so afraid to mess anything up right now. As you may know, Adrenal Fatigue by Dr. Wilson states that most NDs dont have much training in how to treat AF successfully. I agree with him. I can recommend my Dr. to you. I believe it when Dr.Lam said, somebodys cure could be somebody elses poison when it comes to AF supplementation. We all have different body condition and severity of of our illness, therfore our body response differently. Therefore, you can not assume that since somebody improved by taking 3,000 mg of this and 1,000 mg of that, then you can do the same thing. Thats why we need somebody like Dr. Lam, who understand the fundamentals of AF to help and guide us, especially if your case is severe. 2,776 hits

Hi Chikitta - I strongly recommend Adrenal Drops and Adrenal Complex Capsules. Both are manufactured by Professional Complementary Health Products of Portland, OR. They made a huge differnce for me when I learned I had AF years ago.People with AF usually have copper overload as well. Well Scoobie, I was so severe THAT . . . (Sorry, I was possessed by the spirit of Johnny Carson for a few seconds there. :-0 .) But seriously, my AF was quite severe 14 years ago, when I first learned I had it. I went through times when I was barely able to get out of bed for two or three weeks at a time. I was also severely depressed, often to the point of being suicidal. I was hospitalized twice for my suicidal ideation--once for two weeks, then for four days. Since starting iodine I have gained around 25 pounds. Initially around 15 pounds and held still at that weight for several months and recently I have gained another 10 or so. At first I attributed it to the iodine, but now I am convinced that it has more to do with stress and AF. I am extremely stressed right now and my AF has gotten much worse, and hence, my weight has gone up.Although I have increased my iodine dosage again very recently, I dont think it has anything to do with the weight gain. 1,886 hits

Yes Sean My husband I believed has had AF or has AF.He is stressed out all the time. He is in a very competitive field ..medical research science.. he works up to 17 hours a day.. he has had AF for a least 3 years..I put I in his OJ the changes in him are amazing .. to keep it short.. his ability to cope with stress has turned around.. his is now able to now sleep..he does not tire so easily and can not keep up his work hours etc.. 3,358 hits

Adrenal Fatigue exists, and you can learn a lot about it in Adrenal Fatigue by James L. Wilson. Optimal Wellness by Ralph Golan has a chapter on AF, and chapters on related conditions. Ive spent the last 13 years recovering from a severe case of AF. I found out I had it by taking the saliva test. Ive read that it is more reliable than the blood test. Ive read that people can have normal blood tests even when they have severe cases of AF.Id recommend supplements that help the adrenals function better. If it did check out why am I always so tired? by Melissa Smith pregancny causes you to retain copper thus effecting the adrenals. Dont worry its not in your head, thats bull_____ for we are too stupid to figure out the problem. I had 30 symptoms of AF at one time MDs in general treat symptoms not the problem.
