The Town of Hilton Head Island has purchased the former PNC Bank building located at 4 Office Way, near Sea Pines Circle, for $2.975 million. The Town plans to renovate the building and use the space for Town offices. The property encompasses 2.3 acres and features a two-story building with over 11,000 square feet of space. "This building offers an ideal solution for our space needs and provides a cost-effective alternative to new construction. Moreover, it allows us to protect a key location on the Sea Pines Circle, including the preservation of the on-site pond, and prevents the possibility of the property being redeveloped for higher intensity uses," said Town Manager Marc Orlando.Town Council authorized the purchase of the property on June 4. The acquisition was finalized on August 14, using tax increment financing (TIF) funds, which were generated from the TIF district along Pope Avenue to promote redevelopment or improvements within that area."This acquisition is a vital step in ensuring that we meet the growing needs of Town personnel and our community," said Mayor Alan Perry. "When the opportunity arose, we recognized this location as ideal, especially given its amenities that can support our essential Town services."The Town will keep the public apprised of its plans for the building as they are developed. For more information on Town property purchases, please visit theTown-Owned Property Dashboard.
